Handwoven in a village on the southeastern coast of Bali, these beautiful items are made by splitting the rattan into thin strips and wet down to be woven using a needle to produce a tight weave. After 2-3 days the items are then dried for several days in the sun, and then "smoked" over coconut husks to achieve a beautiful honey-brown color. The process is completely natural, using no dyes, stains or finishing products.
